  1. You can but it will not make any difference

  2. Might help, depending on haw far apart.

  3. yes and no

you can increase coverage and by being closer to the router increase speed

as you know the numbers on the box are hocus pocus but fall greatly any distance away from the router

Plus you will eliminate blind spots

plug the ethernet wire from router 1 into a lan port of router 2

very important not into the internet single wan port

Next disable dhcp of router number 2 - very important

Have the same ssid but but - a different channel

If you have the same channel the wireless network adapter will bounce between the two - being confused - hence no internet for you

The card will pick the strongest signal

You would think it would bounce between the two but it does not seem to work out that way

Lastly - change the ssid from defaults- rogue signals, have the router high and uncluttered for a clear signal

If you have g cards ( not b)  then you might want to change the signal type to g only rather than mixed

    useful site:

    http://portforward.com/routers.htm

it always amazed me how people give uninformed answers - as if their answer is the only one - without any explanation or depth of understanding of any manner

    summary

    yes you can

run the ethernet jack from router one lan port to a lan port of router 2

turn off dhcp on router 2 ( router one will assign the numbers)

router number 2 should be on a different channel than the router number one
