Plugging in and out to conserve?

is it okay to keep unplugging things in and out im afraid of burning something out especially my computer, what i doo is when i turn off the computer i wait like a feww minutes to let it coool down then i unplugg it from the power supply and then i unplug the other side of the cable from the outlet and then unplug the monitor, then the next day when i wanna use it plug in the monitor then the computer cable to the outlet then to the power supply and i wait a while to let it warm up then i turn it on......am i doing that alright cause i really dont wanna burn out anything just by tryn to conserve electricity, i do this to like a charger and sometimes television

  1. There is a tiny bit of energy that can be wasted by leaving things plugged in if one piece is malfunctioning.  Otherwise you will see no appreciable effect from unplugging things.  If they have a standby mode though, unplugging can save a decent amount.  Nothing staggering but every little bit helps.


  2. So long as an appliance is switched off, there is nothing gained by physically pulling the plug.
