What kind of insurance would a plumbing business need in order to keep from being sued?

Well, unfortunately, insurance does not keep you from being sued.  Anyone can sue anyone for any reason.  However, insurance is designed to pay for your defense costs should you get sued.  General Liability has to do with damage caused to someones property or injury caused to someone that is not employed by you.  Workers Compensation pays for injury to you and or your employees.

    Equipment insurance would be important to look into ... if your truck were stolen, how would you replace the tools in the toolbox on the back of the truck?  You may want to consider a Commercial Auto policy.  If you get in an accident and people find out you were on your way to a job site, they are going to assume you have deep pockets so you might as well have them backing you up.

    Most independent insurance agencies can do a good job for you with these coverages.
