Plumbing Question?

When my fish died I dumped the whole bowl into the toilet and the little plastic castle didn't go down the drain, we fished it out. Ewwwww (well my dad did actually) anyways since there was so much gravel that flushed down the drain I figured it would be OK to flush my kitty litter down the drain as well since I have had Tiger for 14 years since I got him on my 6th Birthday and I have always cleaned up after him. This sure is a handy way to dispose of this clumping litter. my question is that my parents down stairs toilet and sink sure seem to drain really slowly now and the house is only 2 years old. Is what I am doing upstairs related to the downstairs? I wonder since they are right ontop of each other.

  1. all the things u should not be flushing down the toilet....your like 20 years old but act like 5

  2. If this is a serious question, I hope the Plumber who charges your parents a couple hundred dollars, shows them what he finds when he snakes the drainlines.

  3. Sounds like you may have caused the problem. Rule #1 is never flush anything down a toilet that was not intended to be flushed.

When I was a teen, I was using plaster of paris. I though I could flush the left over material down the toilet since it was not hard yet.  I ended up with a big plumbing bill, which I had to pay out of my allowance.

  4. Honey you are in deep do do.pun intended. Get a good plunger and get to work.Stop!!!!! putting the kitty litter in there.

  5. Clumping cat litter should NEVER be flushed!  It says so right on the box.

Yes you are slowly sealing the drain pipes!

you do need to auger it out.. but try to remember waste is suppose to go out ..which is soft..so, dont throw nothing down there but toilet paper or human waste.
