  1. heres a list of websites that could help http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ins...

  2. Go to any DIY store and you will see them. They will be inset almost without exception. The other types are chunky ceramic 'retro' sinks. Bit unhygienic these ones.

  3. sometimes people put a long flat worktop, with a hole in it. an inset sink is the type of basin that fits into that hole, so there's just a lip around the edge.

you can also get underslung sinks, where you can see the cut edge of the granite (or whatever the worktop is made from) and the sink is pressed u0p aginst the underside.

look at some bathroom supply websites - there are lots of pictures.

  4. An inset sink is placed inside a worktop, rather than sitting independantly with the worktop either side, you need to take a template of the sink then cut the worktop accordingly

  5. No, an inset sink is inset in a seperate counter top usualy a wood laminate or ceramic. They can be replaced with out replaceing the whole counter top.

  6. One that mounts up from underneath.  These are for solid counters only, (quartz, granite, corion).  One wouldn't work with wood or formica.
