Question:

Plumbing question, losing hot water.?

Then hot water k**b is very loose and leaks hot water. When the k**b is turned all the way on, only a small amount comes out of the faucet. Hot water comes out from underneath the k**b, enough the make the k**b almost to hot to touch.

To take a shower at a comfortable temperature, I'm forced to turn the hot all the way on, and turn the cold only a few centimeters. The spray pressure is pathetic, but any higher and it's an ice cold shower.

I believe the rubber washer needs to be replaced, but I have no idea how to do this.

Does anybody know what may be wrong and have directions on how to fix it?

  1. on the top and at the center of the k**b is a plastic plug you need to pop this off and under it will be a s***w tighten the s***w they'll take care of the loose k**b and may also take care of your hot water output if not try asking here again and we will try to walk you through more steps

  2. What you need is a new fixture, the whole thing.  Sounds like your old one is ancient.   Replacement of a shower/tub fixture is not something most amatuers would do successfully.   Hire a plumber.
