I have two bathrooms in my house, the hot water works fine in the master bath, but it only works in the sink of the guest bath (not the shower) I dont know what it could be. I try putting it on cold water to see if its just reversed, i try leaving it running for awhile to see if it heats up. I am also on well water. I dont know what the prob could be. Thanks!

  1. best to call a plumber as they can look at the pipe work and see whats going on

  2. call a plumber

  3. There may be a valve that is shut. Follow the hot water pipe from your water heater and look for a closed ball valve. You may need to call a plumber.

  4. It could be the diverter valve plugged with hard water deposits,or calcium build up.

  5. I'm a licenced plumber in Ma. And it sounds to me that if you are not getting hot water only in the shower than it has to be the shower valve. Toucan replace the hot seat, or just have the valve replace. You should just have the valve replaced, it's saves money in the long run

  6. Call the plumbers Here's a number you can call for they could fix your problems. They have 20 years of experience so you can trust them to do the right job. They have done jobs for me.Here's the number (323)-697-6844.Something Else they do more then just plumbing. So give them give them and see what am taking about. You will be 100% saticfaded!

  7. The tubing in the guest bathroom sink is usually 1/2 inch pexpipe (flexible teflon piping), which is teed off of a larger 1 1/2 to 2 inch main line coming from your hot water heater.  The shower is usually also teed off the line or directly from the hot water heater, but is usually more rigid Copper or PVC tubing, depending on the age of your house.  I would suggest locating the 1 1/2 inch main line, and seeing where it tees off for the shower.  It may be that it is simply not connected.  Do you have blueprints of your house?  You can get a copy from your builder or the county zoning commission.  That may also help locating where the line tees off.  Best of luck to you.

  8. I have to agree with the licensed plumber.

If you get HW to the sink in the same bathroom as the shower, I would suspect the valve in the shower.

Replace that and if the problem persists, then come back.
