Plymouth War Memorial Honour Roll nicked?

4 plaques were stolen prior to Veterans' Day, another Veteran's Day.

The solid bronze plaque also listed Royal Marines who gave their lives in World War II

War veterans were disgusted by the thefts.

Cost= £7000 to repair the damage and replace the stolen plaques.

How fricking low can you get?

They should hang- This is an outrageous sacrilege

Thousands of young lads on honour rolls like these gave the ultimate sacrifice doing their duty expected of every Briton: a generation that made a nation faithfully live up to its' namesake: Great Britain.

Compare the day and night guard to Stephen Lawrence Memorial?

If it was a mosque or hindu temple? There would be a police lock-down!

If this doesn't embolden and enrage the few truly patriotic Britons- what ever will?

The people who stole these memorials are the scum of the Earth. If and when they get caught they should be Named and Shamed.

Yet nearly every day we turn on the news and you hear of a new outrage that is worse than the last, and are we shocked yes surprised NO.

Unfortunately we the law abiding public have had to become immune to all that is wrong around us.

Unless its to do with either this or that minority that thinks it get a raw deal, everything else that was once honoured and respected gets next to sod-all.

Only when the power's that be start to do what should be done, will Britain again become a country that we can all be proud of.

We cant have guards at every war memorial. There are too many. Minorities may have guards on the lone memorial or temple due to instances of vandalism. But this appears to be a case of people trying to make a few bob flogging the metal. Sad but true

I am truly shocked and horrified. You think what the h**l is the thief's motif. Our men need the utmost respect out of everyone living as they have done their bit for our vcountry and without them we would not be hear speaking English today!
