  1. If you have a dwarf hamster, then unfortunately no. Dwarfs are very, very susceptible to diabetes, and even one sugary treat can give them this disease. It's all but impossible to cure or treat if they get it, so stick with fiberous fruits and rich green veggies as treats.

  2. Hamsters aren't supposed to eat any sugar foods because it rots their teeth and trust me you do not want to have to brush their teeth!! LOL! If you just buy some treats from a pet store, their teeth should stay heathly and clean!

    Hope this helps!!

  3. yes its a great little treat 4 them

  4. Guniea Pigs/hamster unlike rabbits are actually rodents but they are herbivores, not omnivores.their diet should be high fibre(grass hay is good) with fresh vegetables and a little fruit & grain.the vegetables are important to guinea pigs/hamster as they cannot make there own vitamin c.they need a source in their diet, just like us.

You can use honey occassional but not all the time because its sugary and not good for the teeth too often.

Food that rabbits and guinea pigs/Hamster should avoid

Brassicaceous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, kale can cause too much gas to be produce if fed in large amounts to rabbits and guinea pigs

    High-Oxalate vegetables

Greens such as Spinach, beet leaves and to lessers extend parsley can have high levels of oxalates. fed in high amounts these can interfere with calcium metabolism and cause damage to kidney.Carnivores are unlike to consume enough of these to cause a problem but herbivores such as rabbits and guinea pigs could be at risk if fed this greens as the bulk of their diet. they are not a problem if fed in small amounts to healthy animals.

    Grain based diets.

These are too high in energy and do not contain enough effective roughage.the high energy result in fat pets & the lack of roughage contributes to dental disease and poor intestinal health.

  5. Well ive heard that hamster shouldnt eat honey or even eat honey at all.It could get stuck in there cheek pouches and if they dont clean it properly it could get infected or sticky.Read on some hamster sites and it should tell you.Hope i helped and good luck!

  6. Hi :), yes youy can feed your hamster honey in drops and just plain but not too much of it and it cant be too liquidy or else it will stick to the top of the hammies mouth, possibly choke it or get stuck on its teeth (hamsters can have cavitys too) i would try refrigerating the honey before giving it to the hamster (just to let you no the guy infront of me copied that all form this website about small creatures on the sweats and treats link, wich i have no clue why he gave you rabbit guinea pig and all that info becoz you werent asking for bunnies or guineas you were asking for hamsters) so here is a good hamster treat recipe with honey (i know its not answering your queztion but i already did that so im just giving extra )

    Honey hamster cookies

    --------------------------------------...

    Ingrediants

    1 cup powdered milk

    1 cup wheat germ

1/2 cup rolled oat or porridge oats

    100 ml of honey

    .

3Measure out dry ingredients into a bowl and whisk together.

4Add in the honey a half jar of water- If you're mixing by hand, rub and press down the mixture with the back of your spoon while mixing.

5This makes a very thick and solid dough mixture but it will still be sticky.

6Roll the mixture into tiny little balls about half an inch or so wide and flatten them slightly.

7Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 175C (non fan oven) or somewhere inbetween 175 and 150C for a fan oven.

8These don't take long to bake because they're so small- only bake them until they go a light brown around the outer edges.

9This took about 8 minutes in my oven (fan oven) to give you an idea of the length of time.

10Cool then store in an airtight container or in the freezer in a freezer-appropriate container.  for other hamster treat recipes go here:http://my-ham-dolce.piczo.com/hamstertre...
