  1. £3.60/£4.50=4 x £0.90 /5 x £0.90

    The £0.90 cancel eatchother out which leaves 4/5

    250/625 = 10/25 = 2/5

  2. Richg74 is right. The answer is 4/9.

    The child's ticket is £3.60. The adult ticket is £3.60 + £4.50 = £8.10.

    Both numbers are divisible by 9. 9x9 is 81, 4x9 is 36, so 4/9ths

  3. A child's ticket = 3.6

    An Adult's ticket = 3.6 + 4.5 = 8.1

    The price of a child’s ticket as a fraction of the price of an adult’s ticket = 3.6 / 8.1 = 4.9 (that's it !)

    as for the second question about equal opportunities :

    Total employees = 625

    Women = 250

    Fraction magic = 250 / 625 = 2/5   > which makes [ two fifth ]

  4. first answer         = 360/810 = 4/9

    second answer    = 250/625 = 2/5

    good luck

  5. 4/9th and the answer to the second question is 2/5th.

    What people are missing is that an adult ticket in Q 1 is £4.50 MORE than a childs ticket making it £8.10 in total, which is 9/9ths and £3.60 is 4/9ths of this total.

  6. 4/5.  Easy Peasy!

  7. first 5 answers are rubbish

    answer is 4/9 for reason in answer 6

    250/625=10/25=2/5

  8. definately  4/5   answer to second question is 2/5

    The easy way to do these is :- find a number that will divide into both . For Q1. divide by 9 , i.e 36 divided by 9 = 4 and 45 divided by 9 = 5 so the answer is 4/5 . For Q2 .divide both by 125 , so you have 250 divided by 125 = 2 and 625 divided by 125 = 5 , giving you the answer of 2/5 .

    Anyone disagree ,if so ,why ?

  9. It is 4/5.

  10. A child's ticket costs £3.60

    An adult's ticket costs £3.60 + £4.50 = £8.10

    £3.60 divided by £8.10 = 3.60/8.10 = 4/9

  11. 3.60          x

    ------        ------

    4.50        100

    set your problem up like this and then cross multiply 3.60 x 100, which is 360.  so 4.50x=360.  divide both sides by 4.50 and you get 80.  x=80.  80/100, simplified, is 4/5.

  12. The adult ticket will cost:

    A = £ 3.60 + £ 4,50 = £ 8.10

    So the child's ticket price as a fraction of the adult ticket price is:

    £ 3.60 / £ 8.10 = 36 / 81 = 4/9

  13. 4/5th

  14. 1/3
