Peeps, by Scott westerfeld, is about this disease that turns people into vampires. The main character (Cal) is a carrier of the disease, but not infected.

Vampire Academy series, by Richelle Mead, is about an academy for vampires, and it is really good.

Try Dracula. That is the vampire book of vampire books, and actually well written too. It has a plot and everything like that, also. So, something fresh for the Twilight readers.

there are none... seriously, things like dracula are just weird and creepy, SM is the only one who has made vampires seem cool and lovable lol xx the rest just want to drink our blood *sigh*

The darren Shan saga. Bloody awesome Vampire books. I LOVED them

It's about a boy called darren Shan, who is forced to become a Vampire and travel the world and live amongst the ranks of the Vampires.

It's a very gory, bloody and action packed. With a hint of romance.
