  1. 1. FOCUS! When playing, keep your eye on the ball-even if the ref is just holding it!

    2. Don't be thinking about other things like, "Wow, that boy is cute!" or things like that. Think things like, "What am I gonna do when I get the ball?" "Who am I gonna hit it to?" But don't think too much- relax and have fun!

    3. I used to have this problem. Don't think, "Oh my gosh! I? HAVE TO pay attention or we're gonna lose all because of me!" You need to encourage yourself by saying, "It's ok. I got this!" And when you mess up, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT! Just know that you still have another chance to make up for it. Focus on the game but don't feel pressured. Take 3 deep breathes and shaked your arms up a bit. YOU CAN DO IT! Good luck!

  2. 1. look at the ball at all times and know your area

    2. listen, hear if anyone calls the ball or not, if it goes over, net etc etc

    3. always be in possition ready to get the ball

  3. I had the same problem. When my coaches would talk I would look over their shoulders and watch the other teams practice and then I would have no idea what's going on. So, what I do now [this isn't going to sound right but it works] is no matter how hard you want to look away just look at their eyes it helps me keep focus in what they're saying. Just keep focus and don't look at other teams! [I did the same and got so distracted].

  4. focus is dependent on your discipline. you need to be disciplined so you can control what you focus on. if you practice in a gym with multiple teams, try to position yourself so you are not watching the other teams, but so you can see your coach. you may be concerned about something else too, like school, family problems or something else. try to resolve these problems soon, if they exist. if they take a while to fix, remember that once you enter the gym, the only thing that matters is volleyball. if you can't control what you focus on, it will be difficult to play well.

  5. Three Ways to Win

    1. NO CALL – BALL FALL

Two players go to pass the ball at the same time. Who should take it? The rule is, whoever calls “Mine” first passes it. Make sure you yell loud enough that the people in the stands hear you.

What happens if you both call for the ball at the same time? Whatever you do, don’t pull away! The other person might back off too, and the ball will fall between you. Just continue to go after the ball aggressively. If the other person gets there first, back her up and offer reassurance with a “Yours!” call.

    2. WATCH THE BOTTOM OF THE BALL

Watch the bottom of the ball whenever you dig or pass it. By watching the bottom of the ball, you can get your arms underneath it more easily, and it gives you a split second longer to get your platform in the right position and control the dig.

    3. DEFINE YOUR STYLE

There isn’t one right way to perform a volleyball skill. There are fundamental guidelines: be balanced, move through the ball to the target, stay behind the ball on a spike. But what skill performance boils done to is your success rate. Remember, we all have different body shapes, sizes, strength, and flexibility. These dictate how we look when we play. Don’t be afraid to do things in your own unique way. It doesn’t really matter how you do it, just get the job done.

  6. It kind of depends on what you've been distracted by, but focusing on the game during the duration of play is mostly a matter of self-control and willpower.

I used to always be concerned about the score. Finally, my mom got pissed off about it and told me that it was really damaging to my play and the team. From then on, when I played in a game I would always remind myself to just concentrate on getting the ball. When I was going to look at the scoreboard, I thought about the next play instead. I treated myself to glimpses only once every five points or so . . . then ten . . . and then only when I needed to check. I've fixed the problem now!

I did the same thing when my boyfriend came to watch my games, so I wouldn't be distracted by him. You just need to keep one idea strongly in your mind, one central idea that can grab your attention and help your playing. I've fixed skill problems with this technique as well, working out step-by-step ideas that I should be thinking about, going on to the next when I've got one down pat.

  7. Be in the present moment , say to yourself" watch the ball" usually that will give you a few seconds of concentration,  i saw a famous sports person so this.

Resolving your thoughts and emotions isnt gonna work cause there is more waiting. Plus you PLAY sports to not think about these things
