Plz help....Are string trimmers better than lawn edgers???

Hi garden enthusiasts out there...i need to give my lawn the perfect look..plz tell me if string trimmers are better than lawn edgers to mow my lawn..i visited the site http://www.sharperblade.com/. but i need better help. plzzzzzzzzzz

String trimmers are good for fast trimming around fences, posts, etc. If you have a large yard, time-wise, a string trimmer is much less time consuming, but, most people tend to over-use a string trimmer by 'scalping' the grass, which can kill it, and encourage weed growth. If you really want that "manicured" look, and have the time, a lawn edger will do a more 'professional' looking job.
