  1. i agree its either water conditions or he is stressed

try spot feeding him some thawed brine shrimp with a turkey baster ie gently squirt the food towards him and he should he some at least

    most fish love brine shrimp

  2. Redtail Sharks are herbivorous and many times end up starving because they are fed an entirely wrong diet.  Bloodworms, brine shrimp, flakes, pellets, and similar foods are almost always ignored, while algae wafers, fresh vegetables, and even algae in the tank will be relished.  It is very possible stress from poor water quality or new conditions, or a poor diet in general is causing the faded colors.

  3. Your fish is under some sort of stress.  Well conditioned red tail sharks are beautiful fish with black bodies and fins and bright red tails.

The faded color of your fish may be due to some adverse water conditions.  Check your water for ammonia and/or nitrates.  Or there may be some other fish that is harassing it.  Red tail sharks are very territorial and will fight with other sharks.
