  1. there are lists of parishes that should evacuate at 2theadvocate.com

last i checked, it was down to a 3, but they think itll be a 4 by the time it hits land. we're in baton rouge and we're staying.

  2. Please look at the information here:

You can call 211 for help if needed.

Don't worry help will come if needed.

All the information on the above information is updated frequently.

State Activates Hotline in Advance of Hurricane Gustav

BATON ROUGE, La. (August 30, 2008) – The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) has activated a toll-free number citizens may call to get the latest information regarding Hurricane Gustav.

Citizens may dial 1-866-288-2484 to listen to a recorded message with the most up-to-date information state officials have on the storm and preparations for it.

Gustav is now a major hurricane and is expected to impact Louisiana as early as Monday.

Residents are asked to continue to monitor local media for updates as the state continues to prepare for possible landfall of Hurricane Gustav. The message will be updated as news warrants.

  3. thats up to you.  your from the area.  how will we know what to tell you?   if your senses say go, then go.  if you dont feel its much of a threat, then stay.  just get proper supplies just in case.

  4. look up the storm online. and also be aware that the roads are becoming impassable again and that gas stations have no gas.

people started leaving two days ago, honey...

  5. Hurricane Gustav will be a level 4 at least, maybe still a level 5 by the time it reaches Sulphur. It is still possible your area will bear the worst of it. You should evacuate if it's possible and you should probably listen to the radio to see what the evacuation traffic is like before making up your mind when to leave.

  6. I live in a small area near Baton Rouge (livingston Parish) and im not evacuating but do wut u feel, pray, pray, pray! GOD BLESS LA!!

  7. yes, If I we're in your situation. the latest forecast has Gustav hitting in Saint mary's parish as a catergory 3 hurricane. being that close to the storm, i would go ahead and evacuate, just to be safe.
