  1. Take him to the vet.  He may have a lice-like infection that is driving him to pull his feathers.  Good luck.  I hope you can save him.

  2. its ok!!!

some birds doo that out of bordome

    PLAY WITH IT..

mabey rearange the toys in its cage..

and dont think to much of it if it knows you dont want it to pluck its feathers.. he might minipulate you and will do just because he knows you dont want him too.

trust me .. my african grey used to pluck.. she has all her feathers now...

some bird stores also have solution you can put in there water that relaxes them... it is expensive but it works amazingly good

  3. Ouch. That sucks...

I suggest taking him to the vet. It's best to ask a professional.

  4. He might be depressed...

do u ever take him out of the cage? or give him enough attention? give him new toys to play with?.. hmmm

or yeah he might have Lice... soo yeah i would suggest u take him to the vet immediately just in case he does and if he doesn't then u can work on the depression thing.

    GOOD LUCK HUN!

  5. hurry and take him to the vet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. take your canaary to the vet at once.

  7. Take him to the Vet.

I know it's not much advice, but that is what I suggest.

  8. a vet sounds like a good idea.   If it is bleeding please put flour on it to clog up the bleeding first.

  9. General:  Is your bird bored? Has a new bird been introduced into the family? How old is your bird and what time of year is it? Have you introduced any new foods into the diet?

Pulling feathers is normal, but excessively is more psychological.

    More Canary specific:

A small slice of orange occasionally is a good source of alkaline elements. Be sure that there is oyster shell with the grit. Allow a daily bath. If an outdoor aviary is available the bird may be given opportunity to occupy itself with more extended flight. A change of scenery seems to be an essential part of the cure.
