Plz help:Where can i buy a turtle and how much do they cost?

im in the uk--croydon and want a turtle but dont know how to look after one , where to get it and how much it costs. i don,t want to go over £40

It always depends on the type of turtle that you want. Without that information it will be hard to get realistic prices and care sheets for you.  If you can figure out what specifications you are looking for in your turtle friend, we can help narrow down your options. What size limit do you have? Do you want a turtle (needing water) or a tortoise (land dwelling)? You don't have a chance on £40.

Try more like £300.

Yeah, you can get a turtle from any reptile shop or aqauria shop but its the equipment that you need to keep it alive which i'm guessing you don't already have.

You need a tank, filters, lights alone will cost £40, substrates, food...

You ****MUST**** make sure you ask what species of turtle it is BEFORE you buy and go home and check what size it grows to. Some of these teeny tiny turtles grow upto 2 foot long and need a swimming pool to live in.

Turtles usually cost about £10- 20, usually. Some people do offers like 2 for £25.00 etc.

if you care at all about the welfare of turtles dont buy one. you will be taking this creature from its natural home and locking it up in an unnatural environment. please dont get one. they are not toys.
