  2. First you'll need to reconcile within yourself the cause of your stress.  Then and only then will you be stress free and able to sleep without worry.  My sincere best wishes for you.  I suffer from chronic insomnia.    

  3. Meditation works best for me.

    There are a few websites where you can download mp3's of guided meditation.

    You can also do it yourself by focusing on your breathing. In thru your nose and out thru the mouth. Begin by subconsciously telling your feet to relax and be at peace, each of your toes, etc. Then gradually work up thru the body all while remembering to feel each breath in and out.

    I usually dont make it past my arms before I am nodding off, lol.

    I really hope you try it, it has really helped me alot.

    It is a nice peaceful way to relax your mind after a long day.

  4. Pass off your troubles to GOD, and let HIM handle them while you get a good night's sleep.

    Really. Why not try it? Its better than tossing and turning.

  6. A great way for me to relax is to calmly go over in my head whatever is stressing me, and I think of ways that I can find solutions to those problems.  After all, knowing that I have a secure plan to take care of whatever is distracting or distressing me is very reassuring.

    Also, I always listening to calm, soothing music or I find a favorite book...maybe even something that is low-anxiety to read.

    Daydreaming also works great, or writing.

    Maybe just get yourself something warm and relaxing to drink and watch something not too involving on the TV (if available), so you have something to catch your attention but not keep you up.

    In the longterm, find things that you can turn to should this come up again.  If it constantly happens, you might want to talk to someone about this.
