try nanny mania on www.addictinggames.com you can download it and get more levels but it is more like being a nanny though

and also carrie the caregiver on www.shockwave.com which is more like being a nurse for babys

I agree with the poster on "Spite and Malice".  It is an easy card game with luck and some strategy.  It goes fast and can be played with 2 decks of cards if your computer is not working.

If you are looking for the responsibility of caring, Webkinz are a good start.  Not too difficult, but fun.
