Plz reply if you've been emancipated! Can you tell me your experience? GA?

I live in GA and the only thing I am getting from google is THERE IS NO STATUS FOR EMANCIPATION! My mother wants to have me emancipated for fin aid, but she doesn't know that it would make no difference. I would like to be emancipated for my own reasons. Oh yeah, I am 17 yrs old and I will be 18 in Jan 09 (just in case that helps!)

You need to talk to a lawyer. It costs money, it depends on the lawyer though.

They should tell you anything you need. Just look in a phone book and find one that looks good lol.

That's what we did for my boyfriend anyway.

And I think it can take up to several months.
