Ah yes, isnt homework fun. 2 days and no answer except for some jerk that just wants 2 points. Boy, if you just looked in your book, which I assume that you have done by now, you would already have the answer.

Now if you would have said "My homework asked me for this, and I dont understand how a SINE wave could be converted to binary code", then someone may have helped you out. But to copy the questions straight out of the book just turns us off.

Digital is analog in a way if you think about it. A one is a reading of 5+ volts, a zero is a reading of 1 volt, and nothing at all is a reading of less than one volt. So its really all analog at the root of it. Neat eh?
