I think you should put your focus onto saying no to styrofoam, which can not even be recycled. Make sure people recycle plastics they use, and when possible make the choice to use re-usable bags (i.e. at the grocery store) instead of plastic bags.

I grew up grabbing glass shampoo bottles with soapy slick hands in cast iron tubs.  Bad combination.  Those who preach "say no to plastics" are completely unaware of the world around them or simply seek to antagonize others.

You should make your slogans be jokes.  Extol the virtue of broken glass in the tub, hard and sharp metal dashboards in cars, 40 pound laptop PCs, and the like.  

Consider glass catheters broken in use.  Ouch!  Very compelling imagery in support of the use of plastics.

Here are some of my suggestions:

1.Don't make your planet a deathbed of plastics.You owe it more than this!

2.It takes more than a millennium for a small piece of plastic to disintegrate.Should the future generations suffer because of our mistakes?

3.Make your planet a better place to live by using paper bags instead of plastics

4.Don't suffocate yourself with plastics. It may kill you.

Our education system really needs to get better.  Why teach garbage?

It is impossible to say no to plastics.  You have a few alternatives that you could use but the "SAY NO TO PLASTICS" routine is really silly.

I think that your teacher is only focusing on plastic bags and waterbottles but the majority of plastic product benefit society as a whole.

For the plastic bags, use the standard (While shopping, bring your own bag.)

For water bottles,  Free refills here (at the tap)...Although I have other issues with tap water and the process there.

How can you say no to the other items that are made from plastic?  Your refrigerator, your computer, your school desk, your whiteboard, your inkpens, your mechanical pencil, your lifesaving medical devices, you electronics, your coated (for your protection) electrical wiring.....

As the commercial says ....  Plastics make it work.
