  1. Hats off to you for your hard work.

Just me reading what you said made me tired for you.

Your a good mom and I can tell you want whats best for your kids.

Keep up the good work.  Give your kids a hug and tell them you love them!!  Someday you will look back and know you did your best!!

  2. My sister manages far more than I could.  So it would depend on how much you want this and how much supportive your children will be.

A few years ago I hired a coworkers daughter to be my 2 year old's babysitter.  I wanted to go on the high slides at a water park.  I bought her a season pass that she could use anytime and paid her $1 an hour when she looked after my son when all of us were at the water park.

My point being is to find someone & pay them very little cash or do a barter for them.  You'll probably want to put your 16 and your 9 year old in charge of something.  You don't have to use the C word (chores).

I use to have my young cousins come over to clean my house.  They did a very good job of dusting, vacuuming, and pushing all the papers in a pile.    Then I'd take them to the video store and they could pick out one movie.  They spend the night then we'd go to the swap meet in the morning.

A few years later I had neighbor kids do either housework or yard work and told them I'd take them to the movies or give them $5.  I always bought passes to the movies for less then that amount. It was a rare day they chose the movies.

Even though you don't have your parents nearby, you could make friends with someone else.  You might meet someone at school that needs a ride and is willing to tuck you 9 year old in at night in exchange for a ride.

Talk to your kids.  Hear what their concerns are.  Let them know what your schedule will be like.  Do you have to be a full time student?  If so, just start out at 12 units.  Try to get at least a 2 hour nap between work and school.   And a 4 hour nap between school and work.

Although, if you could get to school by 8 AM you could have 4 classes M-W-F and leave school at 12 noon.  That would give you a 4-5 hr nap with time to do your homework on Tues & Thurs.

    Good luck.

  3. I worked that shift without children and it almost killed me. I couldn't even imagine with kids. You get time off, but when you work those days are shot. I wish you the best.
