a 2500kg boat moves through water with two forces acting on it. One is a 3200 N forward push by the water on the propeller and the other is a 2700 N resistive for due to the water around the bow. A) What is the acceleration of the boat. B) If the boat starts from the rest how far will it move in 40.0 s. C) What will it's velocity be at the end of this time

acceleraton is 500N applied to 2500kg - there must be a fiormula you;ve been taught for that.

distance is then worked using net acceleration

velocity is the same as speed

First subtract the forces to get the resulting force.

convert N to SI units... kg*m/s^2

you should see, if you divide by kg, you will end with m/s^2 which is acceleration.  You should be able to figure the rest.
