  1. Pkt Jacks. Its a made hand and the "BIG SLICK" has to catch to win. If you're in the lead and get "sucked out" on you've still made the right play but the "other" element of poker is usually the deciding factor.   Other factor= the board.

  2. i prefer any pair to ak.

  3. The odds say that even a low pair has a better chance of winning in the long run than a Big Slick.  To win you play the percentages, and the odds are not with the big slick.  Personally I would never play with a pair of Queens.  They just don't like me.

  4. I like big slick. Jacks look pretty and is a d**n good hand. But in my experience and A or K always hits the board at some time. Thats why I hate pocket pairs. It would also depend on my betting position, but I firmly stand behind big slick.

  5. I prefer jacks.  It's a made hand.

  6. I am a tournamant player and I perfer the pair.

Big slick is good early on when the blinds are low, and you can play without too much risk. If you catch, then you have a nice pot to build from.

As the blinds go up, pairs become more valuable, and jacks, played properly on high alert, can be a big winner.

Best hand I ever played with Jacks is kind of funny, I was at the final table in a $2 buyin 500 player tourney and had made the bubble and was mid stacked. I got JJ under the gun and raised 5x. I got calls and reraises until I was all in, and so were 4 other players! We showed and the other hands were AK, AQ, AK and A10. No worry about aces, lol. The flop came rags, and, after sweating a bit, the turn and river were rags,  and I took the hand and ultimately the tournament.

    Good luck at the tables!
