Pocket bike question?

what type of license would i have to get to ride my pocket bike on roadways

someone told me that it was different than a regular license and that i had to have a motorcycle license

but where do i get this at?

  1. Most states/counties in the US have outlawed street use of pocket bikes. As far as I know, ALL states have outlawed use on highways. Generally, you have to have 125cc absolute minimum to be allowed on the highway. (Some places more, or minimum speed requirements, or both)

    If it has ALL the requirements, you might be able to use it as a moped. Basically, it if could pass vehicle inspection (lights, turn signals, horn, etc.)

    I've never see a pocket bike from the factory that would pass.

    You get a moped or motorcycle license from the same place you get your car license. Usually, it's simply a code on the license that indicates you are licensed for motorcylces. In Texas, for instance, class C is regular car, class M is motorcycle, so my license shows class as CM.
