  1. Is this 7yr old going to do anything for this pocket money? Or is it just going to be given to them?

If they keep their rooms clean, help with dishes, take the dog for a walk, etc. then I'd say about $7/week is reasonable. But they have to stick to their chores. This is what "experts" say it should be, $1 per year of the child.

If it's just to give them money. I wouldn't give them anything. I would just buy them what they need, when they need it.

Children need to learn to be responsible, and with responsibility of chores come the rewards.

  2. you are not obliged to give a child any pocket money, but if the child is prepared to do some chores, tidy the bedroom, help with the dishes, then I would say £5 a week is plenty.

  3. According to my life skills person you don't pay for everyday chores or things they are supposed to do IE clean their room, sweep stuff like that but if you pay them for helping you like finishing the dishes (plastics) or helping carry out the trash. then yes pay them something I pay my boys $2 for vacuuming the living room and $2 for wiping down the bathroom stuff like that.
