Pod on tiger lilly????

Question

The flowers on my tiger lilies outback fell off and now there are little green pods growing near where the flowers were. I took one of and opened it up and it had 3 compartments with a bunch of layers. Can tell me what this is?

I'm guessing its the seeds? I tasted one and it kind of tasted like a cucumber.

You're exactly right.  Those are seed pods.  If you allow the pods to dry on the plant, you can then harvest the seeds and plant new plants.  Unfortunately, you will have a long wait for a plant large enough to bloom, but it's fun to try!  Good luck.

Careful lillies are sometimes poison.  NOt sure if the all are or not but it is the bulbs that I heard are poison but just be careful of what you eat.  .
