The striker is wary of the threat the Real Madrid man possesses but he has confidence in his team’s defenders.

The Polish born German international, who recently completed his switch to the North London Giants Arsenal, joins in the mind games ahead of his side’s clash with Portugal. Both sides will be going for the win, as it would take
some pressure off them.
They have faced each other three times in the Euros prior to this fixture. The Last time these sides played each other in a competitive match was in the quarter final of the 2008 European Championship, where the Germans emerged
as winners, beating A Seleccao 3-2.
This time around, Paulo Bento’s men led by their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping to beat Die Nationalelf. Although the Arsenal forward is aware of the threat posed by the Portuguese captain, but he is confident of shutting
him out by adopting a rather aggressive approach.
"He is one of the best in the world, but we have done well in recent games against Portugal. We'll disturb him aggressively, entangle him with tough tackling,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Koln attacker believes there is no chance of an upset in this fixture, as his side know how to contain the Iberian side’s attacking approach. Die Mannschaft will be looking to bounce back from the disappointing international
friendly losses against Switzerland and France.
"What Ronaldo is planning for Saturday is not important,” he added.
Podolski knows that the abundance of talent in Germany’s ranks makes them strong favourites to win the tie by shutting out the opposition.
"One thing is clear: we have enough players with great potential. Germany will win 2-0 against Portugal!" he further added.
While the German forward is confident of a win, the Portuguese would be looking to keep their record intact. A Seleccao have always qualified for the knock out stages and would aim to spring a surprise by beating the favourites.
Whatever maybe the outcome of this tie, it sure will be a joy to watch for the neutrals as both sides are well equipped, both attacking and defensive wise to put on a great show.
