FC Koln striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 has stated that he will take the decision regarding his future in the summer after the season ends.
There have been rumours regarding the German international’s future for some time now and the player has been linked with a number of clubs including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Real Madrid. But the winger insisted that he
will delay his decision until the summer.
Podolski’s contract with the Cologne side is set to expire in the summer of 2013 and the club will be looking to off-load him with the best possible price. The player has so far scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga this season and
is only two goals behind Bayern Munich’s Mario Gomez, who leads the goalscoring charts.
The former Bayern Munich player claimed that there is no pressure whatsoever on him about his future and admitted that he would decide once the season ends. He stated that he wants to focus on FC Koln currently and wants to make
sure that they finish higher on the standings table.
“I have always said that I have not been dictated by the pressures of time when deciding my future. I believe that I will see everything in the summer,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German added that he wants to become a legend at Koln and wants to continue with his great performances. He admitted that he still has targets to achieve in his playing career which also include representing the German national
team in Euro 2012 in his homeland http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 next year.
The striker insisted that Die Mannschaft is one of the favourites to win the competition next year and lifting the trophy would be one of the best achievements in his career.
“With Cologne, I hope to get as high as possible. I want to exceed the number of goals I scored last season. With the national team, I want to play in the European Championship in Poland, my homeland. We are among the favourites
and our dream is to win the trophy. We cannot hide,” he concluded.
Lukas Podolski has made 95 appearances for the national team and has found the net on 43 occasions.
