Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 strongly believes that the Gunners are title contenders this season and that they could go on and win a trophy or two this year.
The Gunners went on to take on Sunderland, Stoke and Liverpool in their opening three games of the season and so far, they are yet to concede a goal.
The team went on to draw their games against Sunderland and Stoke, but beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 by two goals to nil.
The way the club has been performing and based on what Podolski saw on the pitch, he strongly feels that the Gunners are set to end their trophy drought this season.
Podolski, who went on to score his first league goal for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, when talking about the team and how the opening three games played out for them, is reported to have said: “When you have played teams like Sunderland and Stoke and not picked up three points
in either game, you have to expect headlines saying you’re no good.”
“It is what I have been used to, no matter whether I’m playing for Koln, Munich or Arsenal. If you don’t win the matches you have to expect there will be a negative atmosphere. We are a big club and we want to win every game.”
“From the first two matches we only picked up one point each game, which was not good enough. But if we play like we did at Liverpool, then we will fight for the title.”
The German international already seems to be fitting into the team rather well and his link up play with his team mates has been outstands.
Should he continue to play in the same fashion and keep scoring the goals, then he could easily prove to be the difference maker for the North London club this season.
However, Arsene Wenger needs to get more of his players to give out their best performances, because once that starts happening on a regular basis, then the Gunners could go on and become rather unstoppable.
It is now a wait to see if the team can actually manage to end their barren trophy run this season or not.
