Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 has admitted that he is looking to improve his performances for Germany and hopes for the team to improve their displays in the near future.
Podolski and Germany went on to lose to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016 by five goals to three in a friendly. As a result of this display many have questioned just what is going on with the club.
However, Podolski feels that the team will be back to its best in the upcoming Euro 2012 and declared that the fans have nothing to worry about.
When talking about the defeat and just how it took its toll on the team, he is reported to have said: "Of course defeats like this shouldn't happen and they hurt, and losing 5-3 to Switzerland is definitely not on, but I can promise there will be a different
team on the field [against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 [in 2006], for example.”
"We have got to live with the criticism. We are all focusing on Portugal and have got to be fit for that game, and we will be fit.”
He also went on to admit that having quality players from Bayern Munich was going to help the national side and its performances.
"There is no doubt that with the eight Bayern players here, the quality improves. They are top guys and we have missed them."
Podolski is going to be looking to try and have a decent run in the upcoming Euro, in order to try and maintain his fitness, prior to joining http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
Having joined the North London club, he is yet to actually practice or play with the team, which is why he can use all the practice that he gets.
At the same time, a successful run with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 in the Euros could see him go into the team, looking to follow up on his success and this could end up helping the Gunners potentially win a trophy or two.
Nonetheless, it is now a wait to see just how the German forward plays over the coming months and whether he has the positive impact on Arsenal and Germany, as everyone is expecting him to.
