Arsenal have gone on to be paired up with German giants Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, in the knock out stages of the competition.
Lukas Podolski, who has played for Bayern in the past, saw him represent the Munich side from 2006-2009. The player is now representing Arsenal, and the attacker feels that the North London club have what it takes to go on and beat the German team in the
competition.
However, with Munich going on to lose out in the finals on two separate occasions in recent outings, the team is going to be looking to make a meal out of Arsenal.
Arsenal’s German international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 has admitted that the German team have a brilliant record of playing rather good football in the competition, but still feels that his side have a very good chance of making it through to the next round of the
contest.
"They played in the final in 2010 and last year," he told the club's official website.
"It's a big club but we have the chance to win against Bayern Munich. They have a very good team with big players. “
He then went on to talk about the outstanding players that the team have, and feels that they might have more international superstars amongst their ranks, but both the teams stood a very good chance of making it to the next round of the contest.
"They have [Mario] Gomez up front, they have [Franck] Ribery, [Bastian] Schweinsteiger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424. There are two matches, one at home [and] one away. Both teams have the chance to win."
Over the last couple of weeks, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 haven’t been playing to the best of their abilities. The team has gone on to pick up some very poor results and this has proven to be a rather big problem for the team.
However, their rather convincing win over Reading could be a sign of things to come from the team.
Should they continue to perform at that level, they could go on and go much further in the competition then anyone expects them to.
