Question:

Poem needed about dancing with friends (Scottish)?

I'm a Scottish country dancer and need a poem that can be printed on the back of our ball booklet. Unfortunately I am not creative whatsoever and searches online have not given me a positive result even after three hours of looking.

What I'd like is anything up to about twelve short or six long lines (split in half). The kinds of Scottish dances we do are reels, jigs and strathspeys, and we sometimes wear kilts and gowns with sashes that have tartan prints on it. The dances are performed in a set of 8 (mostly) and gentlemen are encouraged to ask the ladies to dance. Flowers of Scotland are the thistle and the heather.

Is there anybody out there that can take this info (or not) and write me a nice lil poem? Consider it a challenge :)

  1. we dance away the time, and time dances away

so take the thistle from her hand and heather from her hair....

  2. it's better if you're the one to make it for YOUR friend
