I was asked to find a poem to read at the funeral service. Any ideas?? It should be on the religious side. Thanks!

  1. Gone So Soon

    by Damian

    You took chances

    Once too many times.

As a child you thought -

    "Oh no, never me."

    Life is a gift,

    Given and taken at some

    The Death of a Friend

    The death of a friend

    I try to be brave

But I can't stop the tears

    When I visit His grave

    Can He be replaced

    I don't see how

    He was my buddy

    He was my pal

    I am lonely at home

    I am lonely at school

    I miss my friend

    He was so cool

    I go to the park

    I try to play ball

    But is's not the same

    Not at all

    My minds a mess

    My minds a haze

    Lonely nights

    And lonely days

    I want my friend

    I want Him back

    The death of a friend

    Unknown time.

Your time came too soon -

Your life was over in a flash.

    The fun you shared,

    The joy you brought,

    All just a memory -

    Behind us.

  2. To a dear friend who passed away

the tears I cry, I want to say

    As you go to heaven

I hope soon we will see each other again

The lord will look after you

as well as me during this ordeal I am going through

    or

The time has come as the lord takes over

    you are now with him

and he will look after you

    as you go to heaven

    the angels will sing too

    However you died in heaven

    there is no pain,

The tears will signify my missing you

Until one day I get to heaven

so we can be together again.

  3. A lot of things to remember...

    Oh a lot...

To the things we've done together...

To the things we didn't do together...

    We were always together...

    Always....

  4. Remember

    Christina Rossetti

Remember me when I am gone away,

    Gone far away into the silent land;

When you can no more hold me by the hand,

Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.

Remember me when no more, day by day,

You tell me of our future that you plann'd:

    Only remember me; you understand

It will be late to counsel then or pray.

Yet if you should forget me for a while

And afterwards remember, do not grieve:

For if the darkness and corruption leave

A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,

Better by far you should forget and smile

Than that you should remember and be sad.

    ((I love this poem))
