  1. It is almost Holy.

The tears of blood bring to mind the blood shed by the innocent Lord Jesus Christ, and the thousands that believed in him through the ages.

    T.

  2. 1. It's a suicidal statement. The person is so depressed that they can't use regular tears to express how disheartened they are.

    2. "Blood tears" can be a reference to a bunch of myths and literary tales. There have been stories of statues of the Virgin Mary crying tears of blood (which would make that poetic statement seem pious or spiritual). There are also references to blood tears in gothic and vampiric literature. Either way, the idea of blood tears in both of these references denote an extreme sadness not just for the person crying but for humankind in general.

So yeah, that's how I see it. I hope the person who wrote it will feel better.

  3. Personal preface:

It isn't hard to imagine this popping as an offline "Yahoo!" IM. You know, from that creepy girl down the street that your friend convinced you to send a friend invitation to.

    More to the point:

Sounds heavy laden with melodrama to me, which usually indicates association with the dreaded emo movement.

  4. "Tears of blood" could mean sorrow so deep - that it is like - clawing at the soul and drawing blood. It will draw your readers into a religious or spiritual connotation since that phrase is well known already. ♥
