Poetry Help?

My father has told me I must write a poem for him for his birthday. I do not want to write one as we have never got on well, but I have to do it. I really want a poem that tells him how he has been such a terrible father, but in clever way the really makes him think about it. He has never been there for me (when I was younger various nannies brought me up) and i really despise him for the way he believes if you have money you are better than those who don't.

You don't have to write the whole poem, just a few lines will help. 10 points for best poetry that is relevant. Thanks!

  1. For me my dad was just a word,

I never spoke, I was not heard,

We never played football in the park,

He never comforted me in the dark.

And as I grew and got so much bigger,

Dad was just a father figure.

Its not money that makes the man,

    It is time and attention.

But in my life i always found,

Love was too tight too mention.

And so i ask the Lord above

Can you put a price on love?

But I would really try to work things out and not spoil his birthday.

  2. To Father on His Birthday

You asked me to write a poem for you

As a gift for this occasion

And so I pen you these subtle lines

As a form of thankless persuasion

The gift of life you've given me

Is a gift I can never repay

With clever words from a heart gone cold

Ever since you pushed me away

I've learned from you the things I need

But perhaps not the way you thought

I've learned to treasure the important things

    Avoiding those that matter naught

I've learned that money's just another tool

Not an end in and of itself

That it's the hand that wields it, good or bad

Not the quantity on the shelf

That sometimes love is being there

When things don't go so right

Not a bigger house or fancy cars

That drive off in the night

Yet you are still my father and

I'm still a part of you

And although I may not understand

All the things you say or do

I'll give you more than simple words

I'll give my gift in a different way

I'll hide all the hurt and pain inside

And just be your son today

...hope this is what you were looking for...and remember, regardless of what you may think of him...he still loves you...and I'm sure he really believes he did the right thing...and if he doesn't, he can't change it, so he ignores it on the outside and hopes for the best.  As a father of 3 children already grown, I speak from experience.  Be a good father to your children...and hope they think better of you.

  3. No, I'm not going to help you slap your father in the face on his birthday.

  4. Dear Daddy

    Happy birthday

    Love

    Daniel A sshole

  5. Once again its come to that date,

When you wish happy birthday to someone you hate,

You tell how wonderful they have been,

    And then just maybe,

    You tell them the truth,

And how you would love to be a test tube baby.
