  1. perhaps write about the ships coming in or sommet.

  2. holy moly u asked like a million times! but i suppose i can try again. . .

the lighthouse near by was old and rusty

when you passed it, it smelled musty

many ships passed by the light

    on this very quiet night

there was some wind and a cool breeze

but the light still shined with ease

. . .somthing like that, i like the one that i answered on ur othe question betr!! :)

    good luck OJ

  3. You can maybe right about a person in your life thats important to you, that maybe similar to a light house...I.E. "His/Her Eyes were like a ray of light that helped guide my lost soul" lol something cheesey like that

  4. Hi Joann

Sit back in your chair, close your eyes and picture a lighthouse.  Fill in all the details of the lighthouse and its surroundings, the sky, the sea, the rocky shoreline.  Is the light flashing or just burning?    Keep painting on your mental picture, filling in colors and details.

Hold the picture in your mind but let your mind drift a bit.  Think of questions like:

What must it be like to live alone and tend a lighthouse?

Why is this particular lighthouse located where it is?

How would it feel to be lost out at sea and then see this light flashing in the distance?

Before the lighthouse was here, were there ships that crashed here?  Are the ghosts of those drowned sailors still around, perhaps guarding the lighthouse for their fellow sailors?  (These are just my questions; your own mind will think of lots of questions if you keep painting on your mental picture of the lighthouse and its surroundings.)

Now let your mind start to focus on one of your questions -- in particular, on your feelings about the question.

Now, start to express your feelings in words.

Don't worry about rhyme or rhythm; just spill out your feelings around the question.

Now go to bed, drift off looking at that beautiful mental picture you painted and have a good sleep.

The next day, take out the paper where you have written your feelings and start to organize the written feelings into a structure that you  find compatible with the emotions you felt when writing.

What you'll end up with will be a good start on the way to writing good poetry.

  5. You can use the lighthouse as a metaphor for your mother/father or something/someone that is guiding you...

    I think that will work...

p.s. don't try to rhyme (if you are intending to) when you start, just do some free-writing, and let it flow...

    Good luck

  6. Try and get into the mind of someone who works and maybe lives in a Lighthouse. Imagine the loneliness, or the peace they feel. Often they will only be there to ensure that it remains properly maintained, and to keep one eye on the sea, and very little else...

Look at lots of reference material, especially videos and images of lighthouses and the sea that you find moving in some way... It's surprising the things that can actually inspire you to write sometimes.

Maybe visit the coast (this may be difficult), not a pleasure beach or anything, just some deserted shoreline. If not, try and find some wave sound effects and listen to them to really take yourself there. This might also give you some sort of structure for your poetry...

Hope this gives you somewhere to start!
