Point To Prove, 3 to 1 betting favourite, beats JF, Prodigy Pinhead in the 400m Grade A1 Heat at Romford on Jan 12

Ahead of the sprint, Point To Prove and Prodigy Pinhead, were rated as joint favourites with starting prices of 3 to 1. It was a nerve-breaking contest, as the other hounds were aiming the top slot, but Point To Prove proved his point by running the
distance in the least time and winning.
Point To Prove is the daughter of Ace Hi Rumble out of Bettyville Break. It was a 400 metre long Grade A1 heat, held at Romford on Thursday, January 12, 2012.

The winning b***h scooped the cash prize of £135, covering the distance in 24.15 seconds.
It was a convincing triumph for J W Reynolds’s trained b***h, as the runners-up, Roscos Flyer, was 0.36 seconds behind the champion.

The second position b***h, the daughter of Ace Hi Rumble out of Droopys Stacey, was sent off with the winning probability of 7 to 2. She clocked the area in 24.51 seconds, after beginning the show from the third stall.
The audience was expecting, Prodigy Pinhead, to finish at least among the top-3.

However, Longmeadow Dude, trained by D Mullins, surprised the spectators by wresting the third place.

The son of Droopys Kewell out of Crickleowl Belle, reached the finishing point in 24.69 seconds. His starting price was 7 to 2, as he set off the party from trap number five.
The fourth position also went to the 7 to 2 favourite hound, Hondo Willy. Trained by M L Locke, the son of Hondo Black out of Ballyneale Sky made it to the finish line in 24.72 seconds.

The dog would have secured the third position, had he reached the post just 0.03 seconds earlier.
It was an embarrassing finish for Prodigy Pinhead, who could only manage to defeat the back marker.

The black b***h, the daughter of Crash out of Tyrur Margaret, concluded her run in 24.88 seconds, well behind the winner, Point To Prove.
The last spot went to Fabulous Swiss – the daughter of Droopys Marco out of Schofield Damsel. Broke from trap number six, the black b***h was sent to the track with the odds of 8 to 1.

Failing to do anything decent, P W Young’s trainee brought the race to a close in 24.92 seconds.
Point To Prove, has definitely proved a point by grabbing her second back-to-back triumph. She is now likely to be rated high by the betting gurus in the forthcoming races.
