Point of view on virginity?

Question

What is your view on the definition and the concept of virginity?

As virginity is a moral term, not a medical or anatomical term.

IE: sacred, misogynistic, morality, sinful...

(I am NOT asking when it is the right time to 'lose it' or how to 'save it', first times, or sexual advice. Just personal reflection on this term. This question applies to men's 'virginity' as well.)

Virginity means very little except whether or not the hymen (anotomical barrier) in a female has been broken.

This can happen otherwise than in sexual intercourse.

Far too much emphasis is based on this fact.  It happens for most of us and is not necessarily either pleasant or unpleasant.

Sometimes I wish this were not concentrated upon so much and it usually matters more for men than it does for women.

I suppose it has a sacred value and is more important for some faiths than others but is best shared between a man and woman in their first relationship.

In this way the partners can better share the learning and loving, relationship and set out on their life together.

So what if a person is not virgin, that person has the rights to be loved.  People commit mistakes, and they deserved a second chance.

virginity, to me, is when someone is saving his or herself for the cause of achieving something in the future.  some people want to stay virgins for the sake of their education.  they don't want to jeopardize their education if it comes to s*x.  some want to save their virginity for their partner in the future.  they just don't want to have s*x with every other person they date, they want to save it for the right person who is not going to neglect them.

I think it's personal. To save ones purity for your husband/wife. I think it is noble and sacred. And it should be respected.

And I regret not feeling like this when I was younger. s*x in marriage is always more fulfilling.

I feel as if Verginity is a mix of anatomical and moral. I think if you have had oral s*x or hand jobs and such you can't call your self a virgin. Virginity is innecents.
