  1. Make sure your instructor looks at your shoes before you start trying to break them in. They usually have specific preferences for fit, style, and the overall type of the shoe. Once they look at the shoe the instructor can give you some tips on how to break them in before you start class. Each brand of shoe is made differently with different parts being stronger and weaker.

Overall, dancing en pointe is lots of fun and can hurt sometimes, but just ignore the pain and think of all the beauty you're making and it won't hurt at all!

  2. put your pointe shoes on for a few minutes everyday and walk around in them. also take them to your teacher and ask them to break them in for you. yes, pointe is fun, i love it. and yes it does hurt but after a year or 2 you get used to hte pain and you can't really feel it.  i'm 14 and have been taking it for 4 years and i don't feel any pain at all. also, if your shoes are fitted right, that might cause even more pain. well good luck taking pointe and i hope i was some help!

  3. find the place in your pointe shoe where the heel turns to the foot bend the shoe there its fun and it hurts

  4. Congratulations on getting your first pointe shoes! As far as breaking them in, it totally depends on the type of shoe. I buy gaynor minden's which are pretty broken in to begin with. Your teacher realizes that you won't have them all the way broken in. She'll give you exercises to do to break them in.

Is it fun? Yes pointe is very fun! Strenuous....but worth it. I can almost guarantee there will come a pointe a year or two down the road where you will want to quit pointe...but keep with it...it gets better.

It can hurt a lot. Especially the first couple of years as your feet adjust to the change and grow stronger. Keep your ankles very strong. And never cut your toe nails too short.

The pain will get better though as you develop callouses, etc. Good luck!

  5. Try walking around in your pointe shoes. In the house, not outside. Yes, it's fun. Yes, it hurts. Especially when you first start, but it gets better.

  6. Pointe work will hurt a little in the beginning, but once you get calluses it feels better. I'm on my second year of pointe, and I've learned it's better to put in less padding if you've got decent feet. Don't get scared about getting blisters and go blow all your money on bunches of jelly toes, cushy cuts, etc, until you really NEED them... It's SO much fun BTW, and to break them in, it helps me to "massage" the fabricky part of the box so that's less stiff- Have fun! And don't worry, you'll pick up tricks as you go.

  7. its fun but yes it kills your feet! its best to break in your pointe shoes yourself as a beginner.. because that helps build more strength for your feet.

  8. your teacher will tell you his/her favorite way to break in the shoes. yes i think its fun, and yes it does hurt.

  9. it is fun it does hurt. One of my first teachers broke hers in by cracking the wood but it kills me to because they cost so much darn money
