I'm getting my pointe shoes in a week, and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect when i go in, and how long they generally take. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated, too! Thanks!

  1. 1. Buy a pair of toe pads and bring them to your fitting.  Or buy it right there at the store where you are getting fitted.

    2. Best to wear your tights.

    3. If you are trying pointe shoes for first time, say, "I need to try on beginner pointe shoes." Someone will show you to a seat and measure your foot.  THey will bring out many pairs of toe shoes that may fit you.

    4. When you try on the pairs, the assistant should be experienced enough to tell you which shoes are better for you.  if many pairs fit you nicely, pick the pair that feels most comfortable.

    5. Buy ribbon, elastic, and thread and needles from either the same store or the store of your choice.

    6.  For me, it usually takes around 30 min., what with the sales assistant carrying boxes of shoes back and forth.
