  1. You would do well in a Bloch shoe. They are a bit boxier, allowing for wider, squarer toes. Paloma Herrera has extremely archy feet and wears Blochs as well. Hope it helps...

  2. OK, i would recommend Gaynor middens those are good for people with a high arch and your foot type they have a softer shank and are good for beginners and get swayed tip its $10.00 more but well worth it it will make your shoes last longer the cost is usually from $76.00 to $99.00 plus swayed tip don't get gel padding yeah... it's comfy bu it doesn't allow you to "feel the floor" i would recommend ouch pouch or lambs wool padding hope i helped! good luck en pointe!

  3. It sounds to me like you would do well in a Bloch shoe. They are a bit boxier, allowing for wider, squarer toes. Paloma Herrera has extremely archy feet and wears Blochs as well.

Another shoe that almost anyone would recommend is the Freed. It may take a while to find the right one, though, and they typically don't have very wide shoes in stock, although you can order some if you'd like. Not everyone begins with Freed shoes, but most usually end up using them eventually - they are very good shoes.

If neither of those work, Capezios tend to stock good shoes for wider feet. The platform of their boxes tend to be a bit rounder and harder to balance on, but I know many people who absolutely love them.

If you would like a harder shoe, you can try the Grishko Elite. They are made for shorter, wider, and squarer toes. Any Russian shoe will be extremely hard and will provide your flexible arch with more support than an American shoe.

A couple other ideas might be to try Gambas and Sanshas. They are smaller brands than those listed above, but also do well with wider feet.

    Good Luck!

  4. Im glad youre getting fitted, but I think you may really like the Grishko 2007, the Bloch serenade, or the gamba 93 or 97. You may also really like the Merlet Emprient

  5. For wide feet, I would reccomend Bloch. I use Bloch Balance European and LOVE THEM!! As long as you go to a professional and have them fit you, you will be fine. They know more about fitting than anyone here on yahoo. Good Luck, you'll love pointe!!

  6. yay you get to start pointe! The best shoes for starting are shoes with a lot of support to build the muscle in your feet and arches more, I started in Freed Studios but they are kind of narrow, but you can try those. Griskos are good too because of the support.

I wear a less known brand called Suffolk Solo and they are AMAZING! They are like Freed Studios except they are wider and the shank is less hard, I also have really wide feet and short stubby toes and really high arches so its was really hard to find shoes, I got professionally fit so if you can do that its a really good idea because they know what shoes would fit with your feet to make pointe the most comfortable.

Also if you need toe pads I suggest ouch pouch because you dont need to put them in baby powder and they are very comfortable for beginners.

I hope I helped and good luck being on pointe is  a very hard technique but it is so much fun!

  7. i would very much suggest to go into a dancewear store and have them fitted. but sales people should know what they're talking about and give you a few pointers on what kind of pointe shoes are right for your feet and what size, etc.

no one can tell you what kind to get, there are SO MANY different kinds of pointe shoes. i would just suggest waiting until you get fitted to make your decision.

    good luck!

  8. I like Bloch shoes, but go to a dance store and try on various shoes with the person that works there to see which one fits the best.

Good luck and hope this helps!!!
