  1. A ballet specialist shop will have trained workers who will help you tying on shoes that fit. The idea is that it wont slip off the heel and make sure your toes are buckling because the shoe is too small.

You speak as if you already have shoes, if you do, the best option would be to get your teacher to go through questions and have a look at the shoes on your feet. This will determine whether you bought the right ones.

On the note of wide feet, specialist ballet shops stock all makes and brands of shoes and will supply wide fit shoes because hat is part of their service.

What concerns me is the way you wrote this sounds as if you do not know very much or have not been briefed by a qualified dance teacher. If this is true there is worry in me that you haven't got the approval for pointe shoes and I would advise this first as your feet may not have required the strength needed. However this is just from the question so I may well be very incorrect in this accusation.

My last piece of advice is the best way to find a specialist dance shop near you would be using google and putting in the search engine the name of your local area and 'specialist ballet dancewear' or something similar. Or your dance teacher should be able to recommend stores.

If all else fails if your in England there are many Shops in London such as the Block and Freed stores.

  2. have a look at posh spices bunion feet then see if you still want to wear pointy shoes.

  3. If you are in England, london is where you need to go. Bloch is the best shop to go for wide fittings. 35 Drury Lane. Go along and take a few hours to let them fit you and then have fun trying them on. Listen to the fitter and get their advice. I have very wide feet and different sized feet and they helped me. Good Luck and enjoy. www.bloch.co.uk

  4. well you should search for a store that has trained people who know feet and pointe shoes in your area. 9i don't know where you live so i can't help you with that). that way they'll be able to help you find the right pair perfect for your foot type. good luck and have fun on pointe!

  5. Yah for POINTE! ok, so, i personally <3 capezio and hate all other brands, but...lol :) ask your teacher to come with you for your first fitting and they'll be able to help you more! your toes should be just touching the box on the shoe! they shouldn't be smushed or crunched, but it shouldn't really be that comfortable!

    good luck! hope i helped!

  6. if your in uk then go clarks as the will measure your feet and check they fit correctly other than that the only other place i can think of is evans but they dnt fit shoes

  7. Oh goodness. Please don't listen to tigers babe. Don't go to Clarks, pointe shoes are not normal shoes and you HAVE to go to a specialist. Depending on where you live. I live in Cheltenham and we go to Dancewell in Bristol to have my daughter's fitted as they are really good there. They do all of the different brands as some suit some dancers while others suit better depending on your foot size and shape. You MUST get them fitted properly otherwise you could end up hurting yourself as they may slip off and you could fall off as soon as you go up and hurt your ankle. It's great fun getting your first pair. If you are still growing, always get them measured every time as they don't last long but your feet may have changed.

  8. Use Blochs if you have very wide feet, Protogee is the best for you i think....any dance store but band name non-bloch ones carry them.
