  1. you have to have strong ankles  thats the most important thing

you have to have 3-5 years of dance training specifically ballet

you have to be at least 11 years old

and u have to have strong balance

i loveee pointe but it deffinitally takes a lot of practice and skill

so if ur up for the challange go ahead!

  2. You need to have at least 2 years of ballet, and you need to be at least 11 years old to do pointe.

  3. 2 or 3 years of dance training first. Don't go on pointe if you're under eleven, as your bones are still forming.

It's better if you're feet have a strong arch, and if your toes are more or less the same length as the weight can distribute more evenly and there'll be less pressure.

If your second toe is longer than your big toe, you'll be ok, but beware it may cause a bit of damage.

I'm a former slave to pointe work. Eleven years of intense training. My feet are wrecked now, they embarrass me and I'd never wear open toed shoes.

Still, if you still want to, put surgical spirit over your feet every night, and get the skin hardening up. Charming, isn't it.

  4. It varies from studio to studio - at my studio, my dance teacher wouldn't let us begin pointe until we were 12 for developmental reasons - pointe wreaks havoc on your feet and at a younger age, that can mean permanent damage.

You'll need to work on strengthening your feet and ankles - ask your ballet teacher for help. If you're not already a dancer, I suggest taking at LEAST 1-2 years of ballet before beginning pointe, preferrably more.

Pointe is a lot of hard work, and it's not the most comfortable thing at times, but when done correctly, it's a beautiful sight. Have fun dancing.

  5. 1. u should have at least 3-5 years of training

    2. never go on pointe to early ( u could damage ur feet)

    3. get the hard ones for ur first pair=]
