Question:

Points on my license?

I found out today I have 14 points on my license. I have only been driving for a year but have never been pulled over *knocks on wood*

I'm not sure if failing classes in college counts against you for that reason because I have failed a total of three.. Could that be the reason? And if so how would 3 failed classes add up to 14 points?

Anyone know what the deal could be?

  1. In Ohio, they can suspend your license for skipping school, but, that's only in high school, not college. Someone is most definitely using your identity and you better report it quick. There's a strong chance that your license has been suspended because of the 14 points (most states only allow 12), but, your credit rating would be the thing that I would be worried about.

Contact your local police and your states dmv as well as any credit card companies that you have accounts with.. It will probably take a while to straighten it out.

  2. Silly girl.....points are good. You probably start off with that amount, I know in my state I start off with 12.  Every time you get a ticket they take points away. If you lose all your points within one year, your license gets suspended.

  3. failing class has nothign to do with it but contact your local police or go to DMV and get it checked otu becuz thats alot

  4. im from NJ, and 12 points, they suspend your license...POINTS COME FROM TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS, NOT FAILING A CLASS...but this is NJ so im not sure about your states...so check in to that at your state's motor vehicle website and if classes DON'T cause any points, I would def look into ID theft if u use the comp alot with weak security..ive seen this alot, someone uses your identity and gets a license in your name and then racks up points so be careful

  5. no sweety that does not count toward points on a DL but it seems that your identity was stolen! you only get points on your driving record for tickets like moving violations so you should contact the DMV and check your record!...never heard of what riddler said so i'm leaning toward identity theft! in my state you have 0 points and they get added as you get moving violations

  6. College classes have no impact on your driver's license.  Accidents can add points to your license too.  check with your state's DMV to find out for sure what all the points are about.

  7. no!! i dont think so unless your state/ college allows that. i would know about this because i dont drivers school (no because i was a bad driver) and also have some other background information. it can be also because some one is using your idenity. thats all  i know.  sorry

  8. Hello, the two are totally unrelated. Better get over to the motor vehicle office and get that straightened out. lf you haven't been getting tickets in the mail then there's something amiss. ps pick those grades up.
