Today I am going to talk about my mother, who has had a very big influence on my life.

She was born in Arequipa , her father died when she only was ten years old, remaining with her mother, two sisters and a brother. When she finish high school, she decided to study nursing and at the age of 23 she was in love with my father, they married and had three children ,including me. When I was five years old, they divorced, Remaining my brother , sister and me under the guardianship of my mother.

I do not think that my mother has been the usual mother that one has, since her nurse's duty was not allowing her spend a lot of time with us, her children,

Beside being a single mother, she could progress without the help of a husband except the maintenance , she became independent, determined, and practical person as regardd to her home and to her children since if some problem was arising, she saw the means necessary to be able to solve it.

This one is one of the ways that she influenced on me, because I used to be alone at home the majority of time, so I had to see about my breakfast, wash my clothes, the dishes, arrange my bedroom, clean and many things to do more It was in these years in which I became an independent person, thanks to her.

  2. I just made a couple changes to your essay, including a slight rearrangement of a few sentences of yours for composition.

Today, I'm going to talk about my mother, who has been a very big influence on my life.

She was born in Arequipa, when she was ten years old, her father died, leaving her mother, brother and two sisters. When she finished high school, she decided to study nursing. When she was 23, she fell in love with my father. They married and had three children (including me). My mother was given custody over my brother, sister and I.

I don't think that my mother was like the average mother, since her job as a nurse didn't allow her much time with us. Although she was a single mother, she didn't need the help of a husband (except for maintenance); she became independent, determined, and practical in regards to her home and children. If some problem came up, she saw the means necessary to solve it.

This is one of the ways that she influenced me, since I was alone at home most of the time, which meant that I had to see about my breakfast, wash my clothes, the dishes, clean my bedroom, and other household jobs.  Thanks to my mother, I became independent.

You might want to add another sentence at the end of your essay to finish it.

Good job, especially since English is your 2nd language. =)

    Hope this helps!

  3. (Hope this helps. Good luck.)

Today I am going to talk about my mother, who has had a very big influence on my life.

She was born in Arequipa. Her father died when she only was ten years old; remaining with her mother, two sisters and a brother. When she finished high school she decided to study nursing. At the age of 23 she was in love with my father, they married and had three children including me. When I was five years old they divorced, leaving my brother, sister and myself under the guardianship of my mother.

I do not think that my mother was the typical mother that one has, since her nursing duties were not allowing her spend a lot of time with her children. Besides being a single mother, she could progress without the help of a husband; except for some maintenance. She became an independent, determined, and practical person; as committed to her home as to her children. If a problem ever arose she saw the means necessary to be able to solve it.

This is one of the ways that she influenced me; because I used to be alone at home the majority of time so I had to see about my breakfast, wash my clothes, do the dishes, arrange my bedroom, clean, and much more.  It was in these years in which I became an independent person, thanks to her.

  4. Dear Soledadxx,

I will keep as much of your text as possible, only making minor corrections.

Today I am going to talk about my mother, who has been a very big influence on my life.

She was born in Arequipa and her father died when she was only ten years old. Her family then consisted of her mother, two sisters and a brother.  When she finished high school, she decided to study nursing and at the age of 23 she was in love with my father.  They married and had three children including myself.  When I was five years old, they divorced, leaving my brother, sister and me under the guardianship of my mother.

I do not think that my mother has been the usual mother that one has, since her nurse's duty did not allow her to spend a lot of time with us, her children.  Besides being a single mother, she lived without the help of a husband except for alimony, and she became an independent, determined, and practical person in regards to her home and to her children. If some problem arose, she solved it alone.

This was one of the ways that she affected my life, because I used to be alone at home most of the time.  So, I had to make my breakfast, wash my clothes, the dishes, clean and organize my bedroom and many other things.  In those years I became an independent person and I have to be thankful to her.

P.S. The corrections of SKIP was the best one so far.

  5. Today I would like to talk about someone who has had a huge influence on my life - my mother.

My mother was born in Arequipa.  When she was ten years old, her father died, leaving behind my mother and her three siblings along with my grandmother.

After finishing high school, my mother decided to study nursing.  When she was 23, she fell in love with my father and they got married.  When I was 5 years old, my parents divorced and I lived full-time with my mother, brother and sister.

Due to my mother's busy job, she was unable to spend a lot of time with her children.  Being a single mother responsible for raising three children gave my mother the independence and determination needed for such a difficult task.  She was always practical and able to solve any problem that arose.

As I was home by myself most of the time, I was responsible for looking after some of my meals, arranging my clothes and household chores.

Thanks to my mother, the lessons from my childhood have helped mould me into the independent person I am today.
