Poison Arrow Frogs PaF

Hi, I'm thinking of getting some poison arrow frogs, i have experience in keeping reptiles but frogs are amphibians and are different. Anyway i was thinking what ones to get how many to get what they eat and what type of cage to keep them in.

Should i feed them fruit flies? and if so how would i go about feeding them the flies.

I was thinking for vivarium ideas because they live in the jungle and on waterfalls like a tall viv with moist peat at the bottom and at the back a rock wall going up with a kind of waterfall trickling down with lots of jungle type plants.

TY

PS i realise frogs are not reptiles but its the closest category

  1. Definitely hit up that blackjungle.com website, props to other guy for directing you there, also I would recommend buying a book. Loads of info. If you want any success you start with a mated pair, one all by itself usually doesn't last long. You can buy flightless fruit flies which helps to make feeding them easier.  Dendrobates are so small they can easily fit in a 10gal viv. just do a lot of research beforehand as they are one of the more difficult reptiles to keep alive. I can't imagine that a license is necessary because in captivity they are not poisonous. There is something in their diet in the wild that creates the toxin.
