  1. Try a soap made with jewelweed. It needs to be an animal-oil based soap as vegetable based soaps will spread the oils. You can find the jewelweed soap at a local health food store and they are less than $10.

My husband contracted poison ivy from weed-eating in our backyard this last weekend. He used the soap the following morning and it has dried up completely. I have to say it's a miracle treatment (I'm really not kidding!) and something that will always be in our first aid kit. It doesn't contain any harmful ingredients so you won't deal with secondary issues you normally get from artificial Rx and OTC drugs.

  2. Try Aloe Vera

  3. Theres a pink lotion that people use with chicken pox to make it non itchy i forget the name of it now.. but try it.   if not i just say let it play out. if you have to go to school with poision ivy  an explain to people  why your red and itchy!

  4. ive had poison ivy 7 or 8 times. and try using hydrocortizone. you can find it in dollar general, what hydrocortizone does is it drys up the poison ivy! i hope u get over it soon!

  5. I tok a cold shower and put on some anti-itch cream and it went down within no time. But each person is different i posted a site with some different rememdies below. Hope it helps.

  6. Calamine lotion is best for poison ivy.

  7. well you can spread it from scratching the area, only the oil itself on the leaves can spread it, and the oil that was on the clothes from when you got it. i hope its not your favorite clothes too because those particles dont go away for months. best advice is put womens lotrimin if you have any. it stops itching for the day and you apply it in the morning and at night. you cant really get rid of it. i had it for 3 weeks a few months ago. i've had it 4 times in 5 months. a few weeks ago i had it and i still feel the dry skin on my forearm. good luck!
