  1. The treatment for poison ivy stems from the fact that it is an oily irritant... so here is what you do...

    1.  benadryl to help with the itching (from thee inside out)

    2.  take cool baths with an oatmeal additive (outside in)

    3.  calamine lotion on the itchy spots (outside in)

    4.  wash all clothing and linen that you touched, sat on, layed on, etc with hot soapy water to get rid of the oils or you will re-infect yourself.

    5.  and if it is really bad and covering a lot of your body then you may need an steroid pill to calm the inflammation.  Be careful with topical steroids such as cortaid, etc b/c they may relieve the symptoms temporarily, but you can get a flare up... and you are limited as to how much you can use.

Unfortuntately, it will just take time to pass....

    Peace

    Hope this helps

  2. go to the drugstore and buy some Tecnu, then follow the directions for thoroughly removing the oil from your skin. They also sell some anti-itch gel along with it that should keep you from scratching. This system works FAST for me every time.

  3. your question makes absolutely no sense, but i will give it a shot. Im assuming you touched poison ivy and now the area is dry and cracking? so in that case get a anti-itch cream, preferably one with an anti-histamine in it or cortisol...such as hydrocortisone, or cortisol 10 i think its called would be good. and take a benadryl or doxylamine succinate...you can get both of those over the counter. all of it. best of luck

  4. caladrly will help with the itching and also help dry it up. you can buy it at the grocery store or pharmacy either one and it is not expensive.
